How to make more traffic from your own website and how to make it more profitable

Tips for all sites:

- Set up goals you want to achieve about your site. Ask yourself: “What do I want to achieve with this site?
What will be it’s purpose? What type of site do I want ?”

 - Make your site looks professional. Don’t use more than two fonts, more fonts looks unprofessional and can annoy visitors. Don’t use the same or similar colors for fonts and background: fonts should be visible. Lengthy paragraphs with no breaks can make effect of clutter. Big images can make that pages load slowly. Avoid flash presentation of a home page. Provide “easy to find” navigation, if visitors don’t find at once what they looking for, can leave the site. Also, avoid too many clicks to lead to target. Refresh site frequently, don’t let outdated informations exist on your site.

 - You have to offer a value; only professional and original posts can pay an attention of visitors. Also, people don’t like you to force them to join the program you offered them, or to buy a product you advertised, they need useful information, tips, solutions.

 - Provide your contact informations on every page of your site: name, address, phone number, e-mail address and fax number.

 - Include a feedback form because you want to know what visitor think about your products/services and what he want but can’t find.

 - Invite visitors to join an email list to get a free newsletters from you. Let your visitors know you will not abuse his email address in any case.

 - Pay attention to search engine optimization (SEO) in choosing appropriate site title, page title, description and keywords. Don’t use a name of your company as the web page title.

 - Include your website link in all your social media profiles.

 - Do advertise your site wherever is possible.

If you have selling site, pay attention on:

 - Provide category pages and individual pages for each type of product.

 - Provide a visibility of shopping area, especially product’s price, place for order, shipping informations, return policy.

 - Give customers alternative ways of purchase.

 - Include links to related products.

 - Observe the site from a customer’s point of view and take care of costumer’s interests, not yours
